On Via Corridoni, next to the train station, there is a protected bicycle storage, open from 4:45 AM until 9:00 PM Monday to Friday, and from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturdays. The cost is only 90 cents per day, or 14.00 euros per month.
Bicycle Removal
Sale of Removed Bicycles
The sale of removed bicycles by PISAMO s.r.l. takes place on all opening days of the BICYCLE STORAGE at Via Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti n. 14 – Ospedaletto, Pisa (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat 9:00 AM-12:00 PM; Tue and Thu 2:30 PM-5:00 PM) subject to availability. To avoid “wasted trips,” you can call during opening hours at 3402148190.
Bicycle Removal Procedure
CASE 1: On average every two weeks, bicycles found outside the racks in the station area and abandoned wrecks throughout the city are removed.
CASE 2: Bicycles that are properly inside racks but obstruct removal operations or rack relocation can be removed by posting notices of forced removal, containing the removal date, no less than 48 hours before the operation.
CASE 3: Bicycles that are judged to be in forced removal by Police authorities are removed according to the procedures pertaining to the authority in question.
Bicycles removed through Municipal Police intervention are stored at the Bicycle Storage, currently at Via Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti n. 14 – Ospedaletto, after being recorded in a register, noting the progressive number, type, brand, color, and state of preservation.
Legitimate owners can come to the warehouse within six months of the operation, with an ID and the key to the lock present at the time of removal, providing a description of the bicycle to be collected. If the check by the attendant is positive, the owner, by paying 15 €, can collect the vehicle, and the declarant’s data will be recorded in the register. A fiscal receipt will be issued for “removal and storage service”.
The schedule for collecting bicycles is Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, as well as Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM
If after six months from removal no collection request has been received, the ownership of the bicycles will pass to the Municipality of Pisa, and these may be transferred to third parties by Pisamo srl. Unclaimed vehicles will be scrapped at Pisamo’s expense.
Any complaints can be submitted to the Pisamo Front Office at Via Battisti 53.
Bicycle Marking
Mechanical Punching Procedure
In order to combat the phenomenon of bicycle theft, since 2008 PISAMO s.r.l. has made available to citizens a machine for mechanical punching of the bicycle frame (MONDIALMARK).
This way, the bicycle will be unequivocally associated with its owner, as at the time of marking, the owner’s data will be entered into a national Mondialmark register and a municipal database (it will be easier to report any theft, but also immediate to return a found bicycle).
A “proof of ownership” document will also be issued, certifying the registration. In case of sale of the bicycle, it will be possible to update the data. The service also includes a sticker that highlights the marking (for deterrent purposes) and a permanent anti-rust treatment. All this for a cost of 5 € per marking.
In case of change of ownership, you must contact Mondialmark S.r.l. (tel 06-4394360 fax 06-4394364).
Remember (in case of theft) to always file a report with law enforcement first.
The punching will be carried out at the PISAMO bicycle storage in Via Carlo Ludovico Ragghianti n. 14 – Ospedaletto, Pisa (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat 9:00 AM-12:00 PM; Tue and Thu 2:30 PM-5:00 PM) subject to availability. To avoid “wasted trips,” you can call during opening hours at 3402148190
Ciclopi
Ciclopi Bike Sharing
CICLOPI, the bike available where you need it. A public transport that doesn’t need to be waited for, allows you to arrive earlier, and is also fun and healthy. Active 24/7. Free from route, schedule, and waiting constraints, the service guarantees convenience and flexibility, combined with the protection of the urban environment.
A testament to an innovative mobility project, CICLOPI is a concrete alternative to cars for urban travel, the most appropriate response to the needs of a city that asks to embark on a new path. Less congested, without queues, with a keen eye on the environment and energy.
What it is
CICLOPI is the new bike sharing service in the city of Pisa and for all those who frequent it for work, leisure, or tourism. 14 stations distributed across the urban area will allow you to experience the city on two wheels, to move independently by choosing your own route and deciding your own times. By subscribing to the service, you can pick up the bicycle at one of the stations in the city and deposit it at any other, as long as there are free spots. Designed for short trips, bike sharing today represents the most convenient form of urban travel, both in terms of time and economics. Thanks to the electronic card, you can use the bicycle 24/7, avoiding traffic and parking problems.
Instructions for use
1. Purchase the CICLOPI subscription online or at the dedicated office
2. Activate your card by accessing the reserved area. Now you can Ride big!
3. Once you reach the nearest CICLOPI station, pick up your bike: each station consists of a series of cycle parking columns. Pass your card on a column with an available bike, wait for the sequence of accelerated beeps, lift the bike slightly and slide it to the right, hop on and pedal!
4. Once at your destination, return the bike to a CICLOPI station: insert the bike into the cycle parking column and wait for the system to confirm with three beeps that it has been successfully docked. Always verify that the procedure has been perfectly successful.
Tips for use
1. Use the bike only for the time necessary for city travel, so you can always take advantage of the first free half hour.
2. Return the bike when you reach your destination, you can pick it up again later avoiding unnecessarily paying the tariff for prolonged use of the vehicle.
3. CICLOPI is a service for you. Report anomalies or malfunctions to customer service, you will help make the system more efficient and intervene promptly to resolve issues.
Rules for use
1. The subscription is personal and cannot be transferred to third parties.
2. The service cannot be used by minors under sixteen years of age.
3. Remember, the bicycle is a means of transport, it is necessary to respect the current regulations of the road code.
